Massage Therapy for Pathological Conditions

Registration Fee $60 per workshop.

There are eight 4-hour workshops identifying pathological conditions for utilizing massage therapy. Each attendee will evaluate, discuss, and set up treatment plans for each condition. An applied approach to the dysfunction shall be developed in the SOAP notes for insurance reimbursement when applicable.

Exercises and holistic approaches to better health will be a focus on life style changes. Acute, Semi acute and chronic pain is discussed and evaluated in treatments. Use of Heat and Cold are employed in scenarios for assisting pain relief.

The therapist will perfect their skills in administering new techniques in harmony with the client's tolerance. An emphasis on vibration and tapotement will be demonstrated and utilized in the techniques to aid in pain relief.

Proper draping and alternate position on the table and chair are discussed and demonstrated in the applied techniques.

2. *This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Lower Back Strain and Muscular Dysfunction (Heat Application). - Workshop for 4 CES's for Monday 08/31/09

3. This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Sciatic and Compression Neuropathies (Ice Application).

4. This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Fractures and Diseases affecting the Osseous System.

5. This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Structural Abnormalities such as Lordosis, Kyphosis, Scoliosis.

6. This 4 hour work shop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Respiratory Dysfunction, Postural drainage positioning and working with internal organs (face and chest massage and abdomen).

7. *This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques Upper Extremities Dysfunction, (Bursitis, Tendonitis, Carparal Tunnel, and Rotator Cuff.) Workshop for 4 CES's for Friday 08/28/09

8. This 4 hour workshop will Evaluate/define the symptomology for applied techniques associated with Lower Extremities Dysfunction. (Groin Pulls, Hip Replacement, Semi lunar Cartilage).
